Percorrendo la campagna vegliese l'occhio scorre un paesaggio di sconfinata pianura, che l'uomo nei secoli ha modificato edificando masserie e furneddhri (i tipici trulli salentini), separando i poderi con muri a secco e coltivando le caratteristiche terre rosse, sulle quali oggi spicca il verde intenso delle viti e l'argento degli ulivi secolari.









Travelling through the countryside around Veglie, you catch glimpses of a view that stretches off into the plain, where people have, over the centuries, changed the landscape by setting up farms and “furneddhri” (typical trullo of Salento) and dividing the holdings with dry walls, then farming the characteristic red earth, from which the intense green of the vineyards and silver of the ancient olive groves stand out.

In queste terre, nel 1959, i laboriosi Viticultori Vegliesi fondano la Cantina Viticoltori Associati e la Cantina Sociale, per valorizzare e commercializzare, in proprio, il prezioso prodotto dei vigneti. 
Nel 2008 le due Aziende si fondono dando vita alle Cantine Associate di Veglie.  

 It was in these surroundings that, in 1959, the Cantina Viticoltori Associati and the Cantina Social were founded with the aim of turning to account and marketing the precious fruit of the vineyards. In 2008 these two associations were combined into the “Cantine Associate di Veglie”.
